Commercial Plumbing Systems – From Concept to Installation

nzfadministrator · Jan 22, 2017 · Leave a Comment

Planning water and gas services for building projects can be complex. The design of commercial plumbing systems can present special challenges, often relating to the control of adequate flow and pressure, a high density of fixtures, specific piping materials, or the impact of different plumbing systems on general construction practices.

Hydraulic plumbing systems are needed in all community and business sectors — from hospitals and education through to high rise apartments and everything in between.

If you need practical and cost effective hydraulic design solutions, you need specialists in commercial plumbing systems – a team of problem solvers who can work with you at every step, from concept to installation.

Stage 1 – Concept and Planning

Good hydraulic plumbing design should be thoughtful and proactive, requiring good communication with clients as well as liaison with local authorities and other trades involved in the project.

An ideal process should begin with sitting down to discuss the brief for the hydraulic plumbing design project. This is the time to talk about your objectives, category use, local authority guidelines and obligations, the project budget and timings.

Stage 2 – Design

You should also look for a plumbing systems consultancy that considers ease of installation. By designing with implementation in mind from the beginning of the project, the team can maximise any cost efficiencies.

Plans should be designed to factor in matters such as leakage prevention, noise control, and compressed air efficiency.

Stage 3 – Consent and Installation

When the final plans are produced, they will be submitted to Council for consent. At this stage they will be passed on to the architect to incorporate into the overall project design plans, and put out to tender for installation.

Stage 4 – Monitoring and Sign Off

Experienced firms may also be able to take on responsibility for project managing the installation, ensuring specifications and timelines are met, and issuing PS4 sign off.

At NZ Fluid, our team have the skills, experience and innovative approach to help you with your commercial plumbing requirements every step of the way.
